It's a Gorton P2-3 pantograph milling machine, circa 1950. The machine came with an extra spindle, a few collets, and about 400 styluses. It is capable of 3d milling in ratios from 1:2 to 1:8, with RPM ranges of 1,300 to 13,000 via rope belts and pulley gears.

I'm very suprise that Gorton put a 5hp motor on a 8-1/2D mill. The 9-J's I had were equiped with 2hp and 3 hp motors, non of them in the thirty years of operation were ever stalled out. Burned flat spots on the "C" section drive belt, busted several 3/4", 1" end mills. We had a 9-J universal with a 8-1/2D head on it, that one was 1-1/2 hp.
